RETURN OF THE GREMLINS AT THRUXTON
The highly anticipated race at Thruxton proved to be a testing ground for Tom and his team as they encountered a series of obstacles throughout the weekend. From extreme heat during setup to technical issues and unfortunate incidents, their resilience was put to the ultimate test.
The highly anticipated race at Thruxton proved to be a testing ground for Tom and his team as they encountered a series of obstacles throughout the weekend. From extreme heat during setup to technical issues and unfortunate incidents, their resilience was put to the ultimate test.
Under scorching conditions, the team battled against the elements while setting up for the race. Despite the challenging circumstances, optimism prevailed as Friday night showed promising signs for a successful event.
However, Saturday morning brought unexpected Electronic Control Unit (ECU) issues that prevented Tom from participating in the qualifying session. As a consequence, he was forced to start from the back of the pack. Nevertheless, the team remained determined, relieved that it was a rear position start rather than a pit start as experienced at Brands Hatch.
Thruxton’s renowned reputation for its lengthy track and high-speed nature held the potential for Tom and the truck to shine. However, persisting problems with the ECU hindered their ability to fully capitalize on these advantages. Struggling to unlock the truck’s true potential, Tom faced a formidable challenge throughout the race.
Sunday’s races offered a glimmer of hope as the team sought redemption. Unfortunately, an oil issue arose, causing dissatisfaction with entering race two on Sunday. To compound the difficulties, Neil’s accident during race two led to a red flag, ending the race early and resulting in the cancellation of race three on Sunday.
Despite the setbacks faced at Thruxton, Tom and his team remain undeterred. They will regroup, address the technical issues, and focus on their next opportunity to showcase their skill and determination on the track.

The next round of the British Truck Racing Championship takes place at Donington, where the must anticipated Convoy in the Park will combine the best of truck racing, including several European entries, as well as a full truck show, including several outstanding MV vehicles on display.
